Facilitate and correct billing errors for our clients thereby directly increasing the department's revenue.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Identify billing and coding errors.
• Correct billing errors and appeal underpaid claims.
• Daily follow-up with third party payers in resolving outstanding receivables.
• Report on billing and underpayment trends. 
• Uses, protects, and discloses patients protected health information only in accordance with HITECH standards and HIPAA Privacy Rules and Regulations at both the State and Federal Levels.

Education and Knowledge:

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient billing for all payers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Experience: 

• Minimum 10 years’ work experience in hospital billing. 

Skills and Abilities: 

• Strong knowledge of hospital billing which includes RHC, CAH, SNF, and Behavioral health.
• Strong investigative and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes. 
• Knowledge of most EHR billing systems.
• Skilled in obtaining reports from all billing systems to review ATB.
